A factor of a number is a number that will go in to that number. Without leaving a remainder. For example 8.
8: 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 72, 80
First you write all of the factors of 8 that you know. Then (check it if needed). There are two ways to check it. One is to use a calculator. By typing in 8+8=16. Then keep clicking the equal sign over and over again.Or you could do 8x 2=16 and find it that way.
The Greatest common factor or the (GCF), contans to or more whole numbers. The (GCF)is the greatest whole number that can divides evenly into each of the numbers.A way to find the GCF is to list all of the factors of each of the numbers you have.The number that appears the greatest in both of the lists is the GCF.For example 24,36, and 48.
24:1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 24
36:1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 12, 18, 36
48:1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 24, 48
As you can see the GCF of this problm is 12, because 12 is in all of the of the factors of 24, 36, and48.

Good job!+ You did a wonderful job with GCF and I like your link to the factor game! At the beginning you show how to find multiples not factors though. Make sure you know the difference.
